Now available, Wirecast 3.5.2 adds direct integration with Justin.tv’s live online video service and Limelight Networks content delivery service
Nevada City, Calif., May 12, 2009 – Telestream® today announced the release of Wirecast™ 3.5.2, a live video production tool that allows users to create real-time and on-demand video broadcasts for the web. With direct integration of Limelight Networks’ content delivery service and Justin.tv’s live online video service now available from within the Wirecast 3.5.2 user interface, Telestream expands Wirecast options to share real-time broadcasts worldwide in one simple step.
“We are pleased to offer more ways for anyone to stream video webcasts over the growing number of live broadcasting websites,” said Barbara DeHart, VP of Marketing at Telestream. “Integration with these leading video service providers allows anyone with a computer and an internet connection to easily and affordably reach out to audiences anywhere in the world.”
Telestream’s Wirecast software is a revolutionary TV studio production tool that is available for a fraction of the cost of traditional broadcast hardware equipment. Wirecast works just like a video switcher, controlling real-time switching between multiple live video cameras, while dynamically mixing in other source media, such as QuickTime movies, music, audio and slides. Features such as chroma key, 3D graphics, and built-in titles merge seamlessly with Wirecast's layering system, allowing users to easily create professional broadcasts for anyone who wants to stream live webcasts.
Wirecast is useful for a broad range of users and business needs, including broadcasting of live press or sports events, entertainment, university lectures, house of worship services, live business presentations, and more. Wirecast makes it easy for anyone to share live experiences and build a global community.
When ready to go live, broadcasts can be streamed directly to live broadcasting websites using Flash, QuickTime or Windows Media. Wirecast 3.5.2 integration with Justin.tv and Limelight Networks’ content delivery service enables access to these live video websites directly from within the Wirecast user interface – expanding streaming service choices. Direct integration with Mogulus and Ustream streaming services was announced in March 2009.
“As the largest live video site on the web, we're always looking for ways to help our community create better broadcasting and viewing experiences,” said Michael Seibel, CEO at Justin.tv. “We’re excited about the integration with Wirecast, because it gives our users one of the most robust video production tools on the Web.”
Justin.tv is an online community for people to broadcast, watch and interact around live video. With more than 41 million unique visitors per month and 460,000 channels broadcasting live video, Justin.tv enables users to create real-time connections with others around the world.
Limelight Networks is trusted by the world’s most innovative enterprise, entertainment, technology, and software brands to improve the performance and profitability of web sites and end-user experiences. Its scalable, on-demand managed infrastructure solutions provide global reach and consistently high availability, by routing traffic over a private fiber-optic backbone rather than through the often-congested, unpredictable public Internet.
Wirecast is being demonstrated at Streaming Media East this week in New York City. Wirecast 3.5.2 is available for a free trial and online purchase (for $449) at www.telestream.net. It is also available for purchase through a network of Telestream resellers and affiliates. Wirecast language support includes English, French, German, Italian, Dutch and Japanese.
