Telestream at IBC2005: Enabling Automated File-based Workflows in the IT World
Company demonstrates growth with new products, partners and customer announcements
Amsterdam , Netherlands - IBC Show - September 9, 2005 - At this week's International Broadcasters Convention (IBC) Telestream, the leading provider of media encoding and workflow automation solutions, announced significant business growth and product enhancements fueled by increasing customer need for file compatibility and automated file-based workflows in today's IT-centric broadcast and production environments.
Telestream's flagship FlipFactory product line has expanded to include a new HD product and support for new formats and systems in a major software release which will be available September 28. With the growing adoption of high definition, the new FlipFactory HD solves the challenge of converting multiformat source media into HD formats. This is important for broadcasters needing to convert commercials into HD on-air formats, and it provides an efficient means for automated batch upconversion of standard definition archives. The major v4.0 product release for the entire FlipFactory family adds support for more MXF camera and server systems and formats, first-time desktop access to the FlipFactory user interface for Mac users, VOD application enhancements, processing speed enhancements, and more.
Telestream's newest product line, Flip4Mac, builds on the company's proven transcoding and workflow automation success to add new import/export components for professional users. The new Flip4Mac components for Final Cut Pro extend the current support for Sony XDCAM to provide file compatibility and direct transfer from Grass Valley servers and Ikegami cameras. Availability is scheduled for Q4-2005.
Telestream is also demonstrating Launch™, the company's personal IP media delivery application for Mac and PC users, which was released this summer. Launch is Telestream's first true cross-platform product. With the proliferation of Mac and PC-based laptop field editing, the installation of Launch software on these systems extends their usefulness to include automated transcoding and delivery of the edited media back to the station.
With a solid broadband IP network infrastructure now in place across Europe and an increasing shift within facilities to IT-based environments, the demand for Telestream's transcoding and workflow automation solutions has dramatically increased. Telestream products solve complex video file compatibility challenges, providing automated transcoding and seamless file-based exchange between systems to enable tapeless, all-digital media workflows.
More and more technology companies, end users, and digital content delivery service providers are turning to Telestream to provide faster, more efficient file-based media workflows. IBC customer and partnership announcements include:
BBC Motion Gallery, who utilize Telestream's ClipMail and FlipFactory products to capture and encode media and to ultimately enhance the process of viewing and delivering archive media to clients over the Internet.
TG4, the Irish national broadcaster and the first European customer for FlipFactory TrafficManager, who chose the Telestream workflow automation solution integrated with Adstream digital delivery services to improve receipt and ingest of commercials at their broadcast facility.
Reuters World News Express (WNE) file-based delivery system can be used with Telestream's FlipFactory NewsManager to automate media delivery to destination news production and broadcast systems.
MediaMovil in Spain, who is utilizing new EVS integration in FlipFactory to enable seamless file transfer between EVS servers and their Avid editing systems.
EO in the Netherlands who selected FlipFactory for their high-volume MXF file conversion and transfer needs.
Telestream's core business is focused on file compatibility and enabling seamless media and metadata exchange between systems. That makes working closely with many partners a critical part of the company's business. Telestream is proud to be one of the most broadly integrated media workflow companies in the industry.
