Telestream to Introduce New Workflow Solutions at NAB2006
Software solutions bridge format and platform gaps and automate new workflows
Nevada City, Calif., February 1, 2006 – Telestream, the leaders in media encoding and delivery solutions, today revealed new workflow solutions which will debut at NAB2006. These solutions address the increasing need for file compatibility and file transfer in today’s network-centric broadcast, production, and new media environments.
By automating the ingest and transfer of media files from digital delivery services to destination systems for commercial and news workflows, Telestream’s FlipFactory solutions have dramatically improved operational efficiency for broadcast and cable companies. According to David Heppe, president of Telestream, “With these workflow successes we are well positioned to address the next big need. As the number of different outlets for distributing video explodes, Telestream is poised to help streamline these complex workflows.”
New products recently introduced or shipping to be featured at NAB include FlipFactory HD, which simplifies conversion of multiformat source media to HD formats for broadcasters and content owners. FlipFactory HD addresses the need to upconvert and move media ultimately destined for HDTV playout. In addition, new FlipFactory models that address evolving customer workflows will be unveiled at NAB.
Telestream’s Flip4Mac digital media tools for the Macintosh continue to add new products supporting more formats and platforms. Expansion of Apple Final Cut Pro components now include ingest from Ikegami Editcam broadcast cameras directly into Apple Final Cut Pro for editing. New Flip4Mac FCP Import and Export Components for Grass Valley servers provide transfer of media files between Grass Valley K2, Profile, Turbo, and M-Series servers and Final Cut Pro systems. These products as well as new support for Sony XDCAM low-res proxy workflows will be available and demonstrated at NAB.
The complete family of Flip4Mac WMV solutions, which are revolutionizing the way Mac users play, import and export Windows Media, will also be shown in the Telestream booth. The Windows Media Component for QuickTime was recently made available for free download on Microsoft’s website. It is rapidly becoming the preferred method for Mac users to play Windows Media. At NAB, enhancements to the playback, import and export functions will be demonstrated.
Additional products being demonstrated by Telestream include: MAPreview which simplifies multi-feed media capture, logging, and desktop review; MAP Media Access for Microsoft SharePoint; the entire FlipFactory family, including Pro, TrafficManager and NewsManager; Launch personal IP media delivery applications for Mac and PC; and the company’s flagship ClipMail MPEG encoding and IP media delivery appliances.
Product demonstrations will take place in Telestream Booth SL2781 at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada April 24-27, 2006. More information is available at www.telestream.net and www.flip4mac.com.
