Partnerships & Presence at NAB2007
Featuring new Pipeline network encoder; debut of Episode encoding applications with breakthrough performance, integration and price; plus extensive partner presence throughout the show
Las Vegas, National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Convention, April 16, 2007 –
Telestream, the leading global provider of encoding-based media workflow solutions, arrives at this week’s NAB show with innovative new products and major new partnership alliances that continue to keep the company at the forefront of the digital media industry. Telestream flips more formats to more places for more people with powerful, flexible solutions that help users turn the media they have into the media they need – from the desktop to the enterprise. Telestream’s robust media encoding workflow solutions provide the efficiency content owners, creators, and distributors want with the quality they demand.
Located in the South Hall lower level in Booth SL9214, Telestream features its new Pipeline™ network encoder and Episode™ Series compression applications. Pipeline is an industry-first shared network encoding device that provides a more reliable and cost-effective alternative to conventional PC/capture card solutions for tape ingest into file-based workflows. A series of bidirectional single-channel and multi-channel models provide SDI ingest and real-time encoding to multiple formats for Telestream’s FlipFactory, Episode Series and 3rd party products, including Apple’s Final Cut Pro.
Building on Telestream’s 2006 acquisition of compression-specialist Popwire, the company’s robust Episode Series encoding applications for the Mac make their NAB debut. Scalable from the desktop to clustered network environments, Episode Series offers unprecedented speed, quality and integration at breakthrough prices. NAB demonstrations feature Episode’s unique distributed encoding technology enabling faster-than-real-time encoding to all supported media file formats, including HD. When combined with Apple’s new 8-core Mac Pro hardware, Episode Engine utilizes all cores to deliver unparalleled encoding speed. With affordable new pricing, Telestream extends Episode’s outstanding encoding performance and value to a broad range of Mac users.
At NAB, Telestream and Apple are announcing direct integration between Telestream’s Episode Series and Compresser 3, Apple's industrial strength encoding tool included with Final Cut Studio 2. This industry-first integration expands encoding capabilities for Final Cut users to the extensive array of Episode video and audio file formats with access to encoding settings directly from Final Cut project timelines. Episode integration is being demonstrated in Apple Booth SL5520 and Telestream Booth SL9214.
Telestream’s flagship FlipFactory® enterprise-class workflow automation applications continue to add powerful new features in response to evolving industry needs. At NAB, Telestream features automated ingest for recently-announced HD commercial and syndication workflows from digital delivery service providers. Simultaneous transcoding while ingesting from tape is being demonstrated with the company’s new Pipeline network encoder. Plus, FlipFactory now supports auto-publishing of metadata with media to a greater number of enterprise video websites including Google, AOL and iTunes.
New features for GraphicsFactory™ are also being demonstrated. This template-driven graphics assembly application automates media branding and localization for cost-effective distribution to multiple outlets. New features include audio overlays and ad insertion capabilities.
