Effective December 31, 2022, Telestream will drop official support for running Vantage on Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 (including all versions of Server 2012).
Also, effective December 31, 2022, Telestream will drop official support for running Microsoft SQL Server 2012 as the database for Vantage.
Vantage users should plan to migrate their Vantage instances and arrays to one of the following versions of these products prior to that date:
Does this change mean that Vantage will no longer run on these platforms after December 31, 2022?
No, this means that for product releases occurring after December 31, 2022, Vantage will no longer be tested on these platform versions. Because of this, Telestream cannot guarantee that later Vantage releases will function properly on unsupported / untested platforms.

Q – Why is Telestream taking this action?
A – Windows Server and SQL Server are Microsoft products, and Microsoft follows a schedule for end of life for these products, which typically corresponds to the release of new operating systems.
Although Microsoft has extended their support for Windows Server 2012 R2 and SQL 2012 several times, we feel that the advanced features and increased security of Windows Server 2016 and 2019 are of high enough significance that users should consider migrating in the near future. In fact, many of our customers are under mandates to do just that, due to security concerns.
p>We do not take the decision to end support for operating systems lightly, but we also need to limit the number of operating systems that are supported and there is considerable testing required for each release, and some new features cannot be implemented on the older operating systems.Q – What action do I need to take right now?
A – Vantage fully supports Windows Server 2016 / SQL Server 2016 and Windows Server 2019 / SQL Server 2019. We suggest that you begin planning to migrate nodes of Vantage running on Windows Server 2012 R2 as soon as it is practical. Telestream will continue to support Windows Server 2012 R2 through the end of 2022.
