How to Upgrade from Episode 5 to Episode 6

To upgrade Episode Engine 5, contact Deb Newhouse.

Customers with version 5.x and earlier: The upgrade fee from Episode V5 to Episode V6 is $145, and from Episode Pro V5 to Episode Pro V6 is $295*. In order to get the upgrade price, you must have an activated version of Episode v5.x (or previous version) on your computer. Without this, our system will treat this as a new software purchase and you will be charged the full price.

Customers with a 6.x license: Versions of 6.x are FREE updates and will not require a purchase.

Upgrade Instructions for Mac

Please Note:  Episode 5 supports OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard only. If you are running OS X 10.7 Lion or OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, you must upgrade to Episode 6.

1. Download and install Episode version 6.
2. Launch Episode 6.
3. Click Preferences from the Episode dropdown. Select “License”.
4. Click the “+” to add a license, then click the “Purchase” button.
5. If you are upgrading an Episode Pro license, you are entitled to receive the Pro Audio option free. You will see that option available in your checkout window. Be sure to add it to your cart for no charge.
6. Fill out the requested information and submit.

Once your order is complete, your new Episode version 6 serial number will automatically be copied to your application and you'll have access to all the new features of either Episode or Episode Pro, depending on your license level.

An order confirmation with your new serial number will be emailed to you.

Upgrade Instructions for Windows

1. Download and install Episode version 6.
2. Launch Episode 6.
3. Click Edit > Preferences from the Tools dropdown. Select the “License” tab.
4. Click the “Add License” button, then click the “Purchase” button.
5. If you are upgrading an Episode Pro license, you are entitled to receive the Pro Audio option free. You will see that option available in your checkout window. Be sure to add it to your cart for no charge.
6. Fill out the requested information and submit.

Once your order is complete, your new Episode version 6 serial number will automatically be copied to your application and you'll have access to all the new features of either Episode 6 or Episode Pro 6, depending on your license level.

Maintenance and Support Agreements

Maintenance and Support is required for Episode Engine purchases (included in the price) and offered as an option for Episode and Episode Pro.  A current Maintenance and Support Agreement provides you with:

• Unlimited phone support during regular business hours 8am-5pm PST USA. Initial four (4) hour response time for Engine and eight (8) hour response time for Episode and Episode Pro
• No charge for product upgrades and updates during the maintenance period
• Access to online documentation
