What are Flip4Mac MXF Professional Components?
Flip4Mac MXF Professional Components provide direct file ingest of MXF content from Sony XDCAM, Ikegami Editcam, Grass Valley Infinity digital acquisition tools and Grass Valley Profile|K2 servers to Apple Final Cut Pro real-time editing software – then export from Final Cut Pro for seamless file transfer to Grass Valley servers. Flip4Mac Professional Components support either DV or MPEG IMX media and produces a .mov file that can be used for editing. File transfer is performed over either a 10/100/1000 Base T Ethernet or USB 2.0 connection. How do I get a Serial Number?
Flip4Mac Professional Components will operate in trial mode until you obtain a serial number. During the trial period, all features are enabled but the component will restrict import to the first half of the MXF file.To obtain a serial number, open System Preferences. From the Apple menu, select MXF Import and click on Registration. Select the product version and click Purchase. The subsequent dialog will guide you through the steps required to purchase and activate a serial number.
Every time I try to import clips from my XDCam or HDCam deck, the import fails with a -19000 error. What is this error?
The deck may not be communicating correctly with the Profile Component, Try resetting the Sony deck by turning the power off and then back on. If you still encounter this error, allow the preview clip on the right side load for several seconds before you click the import button. On some very large clips, importing before previewing can cause problems.
Why can't I export clips to my Sony HDCam?
This version of Flip4Mac XDCam component does not support exporting media to the Sony HDCam.
Why won't the proxies I import from the Flip4Mac Component play in Final Cut Pro?
You can play these proxies in QuickTime, however, the proxies contain ALA audio, which Final Cut Pro 5 does not support.
Does the XDCAM MXF component support XDCAM EX?
Sony XDCAM EX is a proprietary format not supported by our component.
Why can't I import multiple MXF files (chunks)? Only the first file in the .icf directory imports.
The Flip4Mac MXF Infinity component does not support chunking. To import all files, please download the Iomega driver for your REV Pro drive.
