- VDCK-2942 - Microsoft Windows 7 and Server 2008 are no longer supported. Vidchecker 8.2.0 requires Windows Server 2012, or Windows 10 or newer.
- VDCK-2299 – Dolby Vision Metadata Validation support added to the HDR test. This allows customers to ensure their files have been encoded correctly. Compatible with DoVi 2.0.5 and 4.0.2 metadata.
- VDCK-2081 – SDR in HDR test gives customers the ability to see how much of their content is actually using the full HDR luma range.

Known issues in this release:
- VDCK-3124 – GLIM integration will not function correctly if any “LocationAliases” are set within GLIM player. These values must be left at default for the integration to work.
- VDCK-3061- After upgrading to v8.2.0 from an older version (pre 8.1.3), when viewing previous task results there may be some AS11 metadata information missing from the report. Any new jobs processed will contain all relevant report information.
- VDCK-2629 – Audio Bit depth correction will only correct to 16 or 24bit outputs.
- VDCK-2837 – Setting a custom black level when performing black frame correction will trim the corrected output as the clip leads in or fades out, depending on where you set the custom black level.
- VDCK-2625 – When running Vidchecker as a Windows service, mapped drives do not show in the file browser by default. Instructions have been added to the Help documentation.
- VDCK-3201 – If an IMX input file has an invalid/non-standard framerate, the corrected output will not be encoded.
- VDCK-3209 – When re-encoding XDCAM35, the output file bitrate may not match the input.
