Vidchecker Options

Vidchecker and Vidchecker-post have at their core the ability to detect video and audio levels.

There are additional ‘fix’ options that can be added.

Correction Option

Available for Vidchecker and Vidchecker-post, the Correction Option extends QC capabilities beyond just quality control. With this option, you can correct errors in video files, and reencode files for delivery to other processes. Supported video codecs include MPEG2, H.264/AVC, DV (all variants), VC1/WMV, Apple ProRes and H.265/HEVC. Supported audio codecs include PCM, Mpeg1 layer2, AAC and WMA.

Available video corrections are:

  • Insertion / removal / change of length of Color Bars
  • Insertion / removal / change of length of Black sequences
  • Correction of Start Timecode
  • Luma/Chroma levels
  • Black Levels
  • RGB Gamut

Available audio corrections are:

  • Digital silence
  • Peak level
  • Loudness
  • Ppm level

Vidchecker Grid Option

The Grid option allows multiple networked PC servers with Vidchecker licenses to work together as a Vidchecker Grid array for enterprise installations requiring very large file throughputs. (This is not available for Vidchecker-post.)

Dolby Decode Option

This software option extends Vidchecker audio essence decoding, allowing a Vidchecker node to decode and QC Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby E audio. (Available for use with both Vidchecker and Vidchecker-post.)

J2K Decode Option

Extends the Vidchecker video essence decoding to allow a Vidchecker node to decode and QC JPEG2000 video. This option adds the ability to decode Interoperable Master Format (IMF) packages. (This option is not available for Vidchecker-post.)

PSE correction

Vidchecker’s patented correction for Photo Sensitive Epilepsy luminance flashing (Ofcom/ITU1702) can be added. This is ideal for fast turnaround news content where time is of the essence. (Available for use with both Vidchecker and Vidchecker-post.)
