ClipExpress
and ClipMail Pro allow you to digitize
media clips for playback on ClipExpress/ClipMail
and 3rd-party MPEG decoders. (To create
an MPEG-compatible clip, you click
on the MPEG button when creating a
clip, and then select Compatible MPEG
from the file options presented.)
Some limitations apply when creating
MPEG compatible clips:
You
cannot use uncompressed audio since
ClipExpress/ClipMail uses a proprietary
PCM audio format for optimum quality.
Any clip created with uncompressed
audio will not play back properly
on an MPEG Decoder, although the video
portion may play.
Some
MPEG 2 decoders only work with Main
Level @ Main Profile data (ML@MP).
Other decoders work with ML@MP and
4:2:2 profile. In ClipExpress/ClipMail
quality selection dialogs, you can
choose the MPEG 4:2:2 profile encoder
for the quality profiles supported.
Selecting MPEG 4:2:2 allows VBI data
to pass in the file as compressed
data. When you choose it, ensure that
your MPEG 2 decoder will work with
the 4:2:2 profile. ClipMail Pro supports
user-defined custom MPEG quality profiles;
ClipExpress can also be purchased
with this capability as an option.
MPEG decoder solutions that we have
tested and found to work with ClipExpress
and ClipMail Pro.
