Connecting to the Network |
 |
| ClipExpress,
ClipMail Pro and ClipView
are all IP based store-and-forward
media delivery systems. Standard
TCP/IP and FTP protocols are used
to transport theses systems digital
packages. You can think of the system
as sort of automated file server and
client that digitizes media (ClipMail
Pro and ClipExpress only) and holds
it within its internal file system
for later Transmission over the network
or the Internet to other ClipExpresses
and ClipMails or FTP servers. The
Basics needed to connect these systems are an IP address,
subnet, domain name (optional), default
gateway IP address (if you are going
to communicate beyond your LAN) and
a 10/100 ethernet port to connect
to. If you are going to send media
outside of your LAN , your network
must also have a local access connection
(also called "the Last mile")
and some sort of Internet service
(public or private ISP). By having
a WAN outside of your LAN you can
connect to other ClipMail Pro and
ClipExpress systems anywhere in the
World. |
